No Right Turn

September 14-17th 2006 saw the opening of the No Right Turn exhibition in London. Organised to showcase the work of the works of 26 artists and photographers emerging from the MA Photography & Urban Cultures programme at Goldsmiths College, University of London.

The exhibition was well attended with an opening that saw approximately 500 people through its doors. This image ‘Art Show’ was one of four works from the ‘Black Englishmen’ project that I exhibited and was probably the strongest of the photos regarding its ability to stand alone with no explanation. Each of the four pictures shown provoked different responses by patrons, as well as the overall project aims to generate some interesting conversations and insights from other artists and visitors alike.
