Last night on BBC3 I watched what was a harrowing documentary film about the plight of women in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). Classic photographs done over using lego by photographer/artist Mike Stimpson. He has recreated some of the most iconic pictures from photography masters such as Cartier-Bresson and Rober Capa. The pictures can be seen on the BBC website. I was quite amused at the images and the photographers take on re-creating such classic images using a child’s toy. Do you write for money or for fame? Does it matter, is it the same? Are you someone who writes because it’s you passion and you hope that this will one day deliver you the money? I write for money, and I earn well from it, but it’s in a language that really only computers understand. Buying a property at auction often seems very desirable, you can pick up bargains, however they are not without their own degree of risk in as much as the ‘bargain’ you pick up could end up being a money pit if you’re not careful and don’t do your research.
