Savvy travellers book their own holidays
January 26, 2007 by Stirlyn
People in the know book their own holidays using online reservation systems made available by travel companies, airlines, hotels and cruise operators. Like many of you, I have been doing this for a long time, and even toyed with the idea building my own travel booking website. The ability to get great discounts and see the destinations for yourself or read other people’s recommendations for that all inclusive Caribbean holiday, is paramount especially if you are travelling to a destination that you have never been before, or if you want to find out the deals available in your favourite holiday hotspot.
Vacations.net has launched their new website that claims to offer holiday makers up to 50% discounts on their bookings. The re-launched site is set to rival global travel sites with it’s ease of use and with the copious amounts of additional information that help travellers arrive at their destination before they have left. The use of virtual tours. rating systems, all inclusive resort information, details room options, all these things could help the savvy traveller in their choices for summer and winter vacations.

Once again the early morning was bracing and dark. Leaving home at 5am is not pleasant, least of all because I never usually sleep the night before flying, for fear of oversleeping and missing my flight. I made the exception this time and caught two hours kip before loading up my Jeep and setting off to pick up my two comrades. The world of information technology is charged full of jargon, acronyms and people wielding the power of words just to tell you about a bit of software that aims to improve customer profitability. I should point out that after 20 years working in the industry, it has become increasingly difficult to decipher what software companies are saying their software actually does. What ever happened to the Plain English campaign? It's time to let these guys... - Earn Money Writing Travel Articles
Following on from my post about ways to earn money, I read a great post about travel writing from Sharon Hurley-Hall over at get paid to write online, in which she explains how to write a travel article without actually visiting the place about which you are writing. Travel writing is such a large and well paying market that you can use your computer as a way to earn extra money, by writing about popular... - Get cashback on purchases from Apple.com
Apple's new ads are hilarious and put a distinct wedge between the Mac and the PC. Whereas the PC is deemed a work instrument, Macs are for playing, as can be witnessed by the new eTV unit currently being promoted in the UK and Ireland. In the US, it's all about the iPhone. You can get cashback, coupons or free shipping from Ebates on products purchased from the Apple website. Ebates members can save money... - Spokeo, find out what YOU are doing online
As a follow up to my earlier post which asked and answer the question What is Spokeo?, I thought I would have a deeper play around with the system and try to find out what it found about myself online that perhaps I needn't make public. Before going into detail, I just want to qualify myself a little. I am a computing professional and have been for a number of years. As such I am...
