No Right Turn

September 14-17th 2006 saw the opening of the No Right Turn exhibition in London. Organised to showcase the work of the works of 26 artists and photographers emerging from the MA Photography & Urban Cultures programme at Goldsmiths College, University of London, the exhibition was well attended with an opening that saw approximately 500 people through it’s doors.The image ‘Art Show’ was one of four works from the ‘Black Englishment’ project that I exhbited and was probably the strongest of the images in terms of it’s ability to stand alone with no explanation, however each of the four images shown provoked different responses by patrons, as well as the overall project aims generating some interesting conversations and insights from other artists and visitors alike.
