Last year Pete, this year Leo? How not to get hooked on Celebrity Big Brother

ß

I was a big brother fan up until series 2 I think, then I completely lost interest but when Celebrity Big Brother aired for the first time, I was glued. Who can forget the slow collapse of Vanessa Feltz right before our eyes. It was glorious to watch the facades melt away from the normally PR concious and slickly presentable icons of entertainment (albeit past their A-List sell by date).

For me the Reality show overload is really too much. With BB, IACGMOH, CLI, ANTM arggghh and all the rest, I have decided to limit the ones I get drawn into by not watching the season launch. That way, I miss the initial introductions to the people, with whom I would doubtless spend countless winter evenings. This strategy served me well up until last years Celebrity BB.

pete2006.jpgFirst I saw they introduced the non-celeb Chantelle and thought hmmm…c-l-e-v-e-r, then I saw Dennis Rodman and thought …i-n-t-e-r-e-s-t-i-n-g, then the hook, Pete Burns appeared and it was all over. This year’s show held no such sway. The lineup looks pedestrian, there are no personalities that spark any kind of intrigue as to why they had entered into the house. Last year I had a familiar knowledge of many of the names in the house. Indeed most had established ‘quality’ careers. This year, and it doesn’t surprise me that there was a record number of applicants, I don’t think the same can be said of the housemates.

So, thankfully, I can carry on writing, happy in the knowledge that Celebrity Big Brother, like most of the other reality TV shows, will pass me by.

Well sad to say, I was totally unimpressed with the celebrations today in central London to mark the beginning of the Chinese New Year. It's the 'Year of the Dog' and it's also a leap year in the Chinese calendar. This means an extra month is added. It was bitterly cold, but nonetheless bright sunshine enveloped those of us brave enough to stand in the freezing wind. With a camera in hand it made it...

This percentage return, coupled with the strong demand for rental accommodation is something no potential property...

Many of us look for ways to earn extra income over and above our regular wages but the truth is, many of us don't know how to earn extra money, moreover we don't know how to earn money...

Chinese New Year is tomorrow and I'm off to London's Trafalgar Square to watch the celebrations and maybe get some nice photos. There is a parade that begins at 11am that starts in Leicester Square, travels down the Charing Cross Road and finally ends in Trafalgar Square itself. It is rumoured that the London Eye will be turned red for the occassion so that will definately be a sight worth seeing....

There exists in all of us both male and female hormones but an imbalance between them can create in females excess body hair. In many western cultures, feminity is deemed compromised if excess hair is apparent. In these images, a sample from the series "The Androgyny of Body Hair", Kitty Melbourne is one such female battling to conform. ...
