I Think I Got Slapped
April 30, 2008 by Stirlyn
I’ve not been updating the site for a while because I have been caught up in lots of stuff in the offline world. Moving house, turning forty, blah blah blah, all meant I didn’t have a lot of time for Rambling procrastination.
I am aiming to change that soon though and get back to both rambling and procrastinating large about many a different happenings that are going on in London, the UK and in our global village.
I think I got a slap from Google this week, judging by what my Google Toolbar is telling me, I lost the pagerank 3 on this site in the latest updates. Still, I am not too worried, I believe I know why it happened and have been kind of expecting it. I will just have to work my little behind off to get it back is all.
Confidence Seems Shaky
There’s so much going on in the world right now. I am finding it a little overwhelming. We got food shortages, not just in the developing world, but ruminations are being felt in the developed nations as well.
Recent biofuel regulation changes in the UK have the environmental lobby up in arms as they are telling us that these changes are going to be more of a hinderance than a help to our food shortage problems.
Oil is on the up and up, in the UK we’re about to hit five pounds per gallon!!! Anyone would think we weren’t an oil producing nation. Is it time to start looking for an alternative fuel source to power our increasingly, well power hungry world? I was in Gran Canaria over the weekend and they seem to be investing in those large wind turbines just off shore.
Our man Gordon is getting some heat about the removal of the 10p tax threshold. Can I ask? Do you think Gordon Brown is a good PM? Me personally, I actually forget sometimes that he is the man in charge and still regard him as the Chancellor, go figure?
Mortgage market’s gone to pot!!! No one can borrow to buy, so no one can sell, UK property market crash on it’s way???????? Probably.
On May 1st, we got London Mayoral elections with 12 candidates fighting for the best job in London, who’s going to win the vote???? Please, please, please don’t let it be Boris, I really don’t think he’s up to the job, but really believe in that Ken should step down after eight years and let someone else have a go.
There is so much going on, so much to talk about, hopefully, you’ll join me in my ramblings by adding your comments, and we can have a laugh. Remember you comment, I do follow so you’ll get a link back to your own blog from a used to be pagerank 3

I've been broadening my horizons and since the sun is out today, and my body clock has become accustomed to waking up at very ungodly hours of the morning, even on the weekend, my thoughts have sauntered around to thinking about [tag]documentary photography[/tag]. Checking out some sites via [tag]Technorati[/tag], I came across this [tag]photoblog[/tag] from Steve Luncker. I have long been involved in the web business but my focus has been on building the sites, not raising the profile of these sites in the search engines. Boris Johnson is the new Mayor for London. Are you kidding me Londoners, you really voted for this guy to be Mayor of one of the best cities in the World. Forgive me American cousins, I don't mean to pry into your business, but I feel like us Londoners have done this week what you guys did when you voted for George Bush to be prez. Say what you want about Ken Livingston, but he...
