Use images to give your posts extra zing
January 4, 2008
Stock Photography can greatly enhance your blog posts and provide that little bit extra for your readers. Magazines and newspapers do it, why shouldn’t you? It needn’t cost the earth either. There are many websites online that offer free stock photography as well as some that offer public domain images that can be used without restriction. Read this article and find some useful websites where you can download images for free and use both personally and commercially.
Creative Writing Strategy: NaNoWriMo
January 3, 2008
As a creative writing strategy, I took a look at NaNoWriMo or National Novel Writing Month. It is a creative writing project, started way back in 1999 with 21 participants. Held in the month of November every year, participants in NaNoWriMo aim to write 50,000 words in 30 days. According to the NaNoWriMo website last [...]
Finding your photography niche
December 26, 2007
Finding your photography niche is not an easy job, especially if you like different types of photography. Have you had much luck finding a photography niche that has been enjoyable as well as profitable? Why not tell others about it? I enjoy doing portrait photography and will continue to focus on this as I build [...]
Job done at the Emirates
December 17, 2007
It was a hard game, with lots of crunching tackles, I lost count of how many yellow cards. One touch too many around the box football at one end, and Chelsea’s lack of creativity, a lack-lustre Lampard, injured Terry, lots of boos for Ashley Cole and one goal from the captain all contrived to give Arsenal a victory over their London rivals. We stay top. Job done.
Here’s hoping The Arsenal trounce Chelski this Sunday
December 14, 2007
This Sunday, the London derby between Arsenal and Chelsea is a very important game for us. Currently top of the table. The Gunners are only a point ahead of ManYoo who meet Liverpool on what’s become know as a ‘Super Sunday’ in Premiership terms.
Get that writing habit started
December 10, 2007
Monday mornings are painful for me sometimes. Coming off the weekend, back to the daily grind, although for me there is no boss, as Neil Shearing quotes, without a boss it’s up to me to self motivate and get that writing habit started for another week.
Blog Downtime
December 5, 2007
Due to problems with our current web hosting provider the regular blogs on this domain, stirlyn.co.uk, organix.stirlyn.co.uk, reviews.stirlyn.co.uk, techno.stirlyn.co.uk may not be currently available. This has been since 1 Dec 2007. Rest assured I am working furiously (and very angrily) to resolve the issue and will get the sites back up and running as soon [...]
I am Two
November 7, 2007
I have just realised that my blog is 2 years old and like a very errant parent, I forgot it’s birthday. Doh! The first post is dated 3rd Nov 2005 and is here. I remember, now that I have glanced at that post, the blog started as a way of keep a daily journal of [...]
Trash the site you hate
November 7, 2007
Nuke ‘em, spray graffiti all over their specially optimized home page, send a fleet of [tag]Led Zeppelins[/tag] after them, do it all from http://www.netdisaster.com/. Nice bit of fun to waste away the hours instead of doing that work that makes you want to die whilst [tag]clock watching[/tag], or if you are just plain [tag]bored[/tag]!
