Why not do as Jonathan over at SmartWealthyRich suggests and spread the love to other bloggers who comment on your blog by downloading and installing the [tag]DoFollow plugin[/tag] to your [tag]wordpress[/tag] blog? By default links posted on your blog comments section have a “rel=nofollow tag” which tells the search engine not to follow the links on the page. This means despite your efforts you won’t get a link back from the site to yours.

In my last posting on Achieving search engine success, I told you that using my keyphrase had gained me #1 on MSN and #2 on Yahoo and Google. Now two weeks later I checked again and I am ranked number 1 on Google using that keyphrase. See Google Search I now have a claim to fame and can insert my claim to fame on the website if I really wanted to bugger the design.

After my last posting on December 11th, in which I wrote about trying to get ranked on Google, Yahoo and MSN with a keyphrase discovered when using Wordtracker, I took some screenshots of the current list leaders on each of the engines. My site morlenefisher.com did not appear on the first or subsequent pages of the search results in any engine. Today, I went back to check and was delighted with the results to find that I had achieved at least position 1 or 2 using the search phrase. Check it out below (search done 28th Dec 2006)

I’ve know of Alexa.com as a good place to research traffic across the internet for about 5 years or so. The thing that makes it useful is that you can immediately locate the top ranked sites on the internet. I was able to see that by going to their Traffic Rankings page I could isolate the top ranked UK web sites and be given a list of 100 of the most visited. I visited Alexa today and the top three sites listed were Google UK Yahoo Ebay Now, before continuing I should say the rankings on Alexa.com are based on…
