Thanks Style Bubble for alerting us to the “I’m not a smug twat” bag, designed apparently in opposition to the “I’m not a plastic bag”, the (supposedly) environmentally friendlier alternative to the plastic bag. I for one am getting a little peeved at the sudden “pressure” being brought to bear on us lowly types to reduce our carbon footprint, recycle or be damned (charged), by the “we’re only going to remove your rubbish once every fortnight”, brigade.
[tag]BlogCatalog[/tag] the lively [tag]social networking[/tag] community for bloggers has lanched a community fundraising event which aims to raise funds, via [tag]DonorsChoose.org[/tag], for public schools in the United States. DonorsChoose provides a simple way of connecting students with donors. Teachers submit ideas for projects or materials needed by the students at their school, and visitors to the site can choose the project to which they wish to donate funds.
I work a 9-5 but it keeps me from what I would like to be my real work. My ‘real’ work, i.e. the 9-5, pays for my lifestyle, hobbies and of course the bills. However my real work involves everything related to the social side of life. I’m not being flippant when referring to the social side of life, I don’t only mean partying and meeting friends, but the study and research into our [tag]social life[/tag], that is all the connections we make with other people around us.
There’s plenty to choose from in this months [tag]property auctions[/tag] so take a look at the lots and pay particular attention to the vendor information. The [tag]Halifax auction[/tag] should have some good lots, and interesting to note the number of lots marked SOLD or withdrawn in the [tag]Strettons[/tag] sale. Just speculation on my part, but could it be that vendors are more prone to offers at this time?
A [tag]13 Gigapixel panoramic[/tag] image of Harlem from up high has been created through a collaboration between artist [tag]Gerard Maynard[/tag] (who works in New York) and Kolor Company, to showcase an impressive piece of software that was used to put the 2045 images together to form what is believed to be the worlds largest panorama.
Prompted by an article written this week by Wonder Woman, I began to ponder about problem solving using your subconscious, rather than your conscious mind. It is often said that human beings only use about ten percent of our brains capacity. Could it be that we only use this amount because we measure brain activity only when we are awake. That we consider the time we spend sleeping as ‘downtime’?
Why not do as Jonathan over at SmartWealthyRich suggests and spread the love to other bloggers who comment on your blog by downloading and installing the [tag]DoFollow plugin[/tag] to your [tag]wordpress[/tag] blog? By default links posted on your blog comments section have a “rel=nofollow tag” which tells the search engine not to follow the links on the page. This means despite your efforts you won’t get a link back from the site to yours.
